Intern- Backend Development
Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Backend Development Intern to contribute to our innovative healthcare solutions, specifically within the field of Oncology. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and secure server-side applications and APIs that power our healthcare platforms. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about the intricacies of healthcare technology, data integrity, and system performance, directly contributing to projects that aim to improve patient outcomes and streamline clinical processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop & Maintain Backend: Assist in writing and refining server-side code for applications.
• API Support: Contribute to designing and implementing robust APIs.
• Database Assistance: Help with database management, querying, and optimization.
• Code Quality: Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure reliability.
• Troubleshoot & Debug: Aid in identifying and resolving system issues.
Skill & Experience
• Hands-on experience with modern programming languages like Java, C#, Go, or Scala
• Strong communication skills — you can clearly explain your thinking and understand what others need from your work
• Solid background with various storage systems: relational, and NoSQL — and a good grasp of when to use what
• Familiarity with Git, testing practices, and system monitoring tools
• A “build it to last” mindset — you write code meant to survive updates, scale, and serve users long-term
• Comfortable working with remote, distributed teams across time zones
